"Chianti d'Autunno" - Chianti in Autumn - the wine is the protagonist



From December 1st to 12th, the exhibition dedicated to the quality of life in the country returns to attract citizens and tourists who wish to  be enchanted and to discover  a new face of Chianti. A face that, away from the crowded summer, shows now its true identity made up by signs and patterns coming from the past  by works and artifacts that highlight the tradition and wisdom craft ideas, projects and interventions that imagine the future. Fifty appointments made by the sponsoring bodies (municipalities of Barberino Val d'Elsa, Castellina in Chianti, Castelnuovo Berardenga, Gaiole in Chianti, Greve in Chianti, Radda in Chianti, San Casciano in Val di Pesa and Tavarnelle Val di Pesa). The rich program of Chianti in Autumn turns the spotlight of an unusual season that even under the umbrella stands out its excellence. An area that extends beyond the parochial logical to propose, with renewed energy, as a land to discover and develop according to nature, or through a rediscovery of what belongs to it spontaneously, that wealth of culinary traditions, historical and artistic treasures, scenic resources, talent communities that make it vital and destination of incomparable beauty.
Events: for twelve days the lands of Chianti Classico will be protagonist in the name of the old recipes of the Tuscan peasant food, with dishes made with local products, related to the fall season. And more:t tastings, concerts, exhibitions, meetings, conferences, markets and shows. A journey through the rich natural and cultural environment, to discover the museums, libraries, streets, castles, churches, ancient streets and shops. Wide and diverse range of opportunity that presents itself to the senses (all five) of the visitor: from the conference on issues related to sustainable agriculture to the review of poets hidden by visits to archaeological sites to animated readings in Italian and English children, from Christmas concerts to farmers' markets and collectors, from wine tastings, olive oil mills and cheese on organic farms to visit craft workshops, musical performances by the theatrical events, from exhibitions and religious naturalistic excursions, walks in medieval villages to reading books in the square. Another soul of Chianti in Autumn is the enogastromic event "Quinto Quarto e dintroni",, form the less precious part of beef, which involves more than sixty Chianti restaurants. The particularity of this initiative is linked to the network of menus created for the occasion by the chefs of the eight municipalities: Tuscan dishes at prices ranging between 18 and 50 €.
